Need Great Bar Recommendation
Hi. Coming into town with several lady friends and we are looking for great bar recommendations. Music, atmosphere, flirting, etc. We are all early 50s so would prefer a place that is not filled with 20 year olds.
Can't wait to get back to Seattle, LOVE it!
Thanks.

ZigZag Cafe near the market. It's not a big meet up place (but I am not single so don't really know), but good people watching and mixed crowd. and the best drinks in the city.

re: cocktailhour
As much as I love ZigZag, the last time we went we (both under 40) were the oldest people there except for the bartender.
Our favorite cocktail place is Liberty Bar on Capitol Hill. Loud and only serves sushi, but fantastic drinks and cute bar staff. And Licorous might be a great place to check out, it seems like less of a hipster scene - and there are lots of other places to walk to if you want to bar-hop.

re: firecracker
As a 40 y.o. I would point out that the request was from a couple in their 50's who did not want a place necessarily filled with 20 y.o. :-) I concur with Zig Zag. Brouwer's is great. Not a tremendously young crowd. Amazing beer list. 200+ bottles. Lots of special events. 60 taps heavy on NW/West Coast and Belgian Brews. Fremont is a cab or bus ride from downtown however.
Downtown I would also recommend Vessel up on 5th Ave. near the 5th Ave. theater. Serious cocktails. Hip but upscale atmosphere. On the West side of Capitol Hill (Olive and Olive) Knee High Stocking is another great speakeasy inspired cocktail joint. Text a reservation for best seating options ... but you can show up and may get a seat. Depends on the night. It is a small bar space with tables tucked away in intimate back spaces. A bit farther up on Capitol Hill I love Tavern Law. Along with Zig Zag it is considered one of the top cocktail bars in the country. The downstairs bar is a bit louder and overall it has a youngish crowd. However you can make a reservation for the upstairs space which is a quiet oasis evocative of the 20's-30's. They have table service as well as a bar and there is quiet period music playing. Occasionally groups come in dressed up in vests & hats or cocktail dresses but that is part of the fun.

If you love wonderful craft beer, great single malt scotch and excellent pub food, I suggest Brouwer's Cafe.

re: Laziloo
Laziloo, The pub is located in Fremont which is the center of the universe located just north of downtown. Fremont itself is worth exploring especially for the troll, the rocket and the statue of one of the world's worst dictators strangely placed among what would have been probable victims.
