Good first date bar in Sheridan Square area?

Howdy folks,

The title says it all. Seeking a nice place to get a drink (maybe a snack) for two people hovering around 40 yrs old. This will be a Tuesday evening.

Thanks for any thoughts!

Gosh, I'm really sory folks, I never thanked you! Went on the date and got sick as a dog right after (unrelated to either the bar or the date! :D ).

Wound up going to Little Branch, which was quite nice (and no, not terribly close to Sheridan Sq.). I'll definitely try those other spots over time, though.

    Cheers,
    O

Alta on w. 10th is a romantic tapas bar in a nice brownstone.

Try Jeffrey - just opened right on Sheridan Square - very comfortable oyster bar/snacks/wine. It's the new sister restaurant to Joe Leonard's also on the Square

Little Branch is not too far and usually quiet on Tuesdays. They open at 7pm. No food, but the cocktails are superb. I think it's cash only. You could also try the bar at Employees Only.

Heart of the West Village. The #1 Christopher St. subway stop has an exit there.
