I just came across this series of photos from the above-mentioned restaurants, and thought that you'd like to explore the dishes of local restaurants on this chefs' site: http://www.starchefs.com/cook/photos/chef-melissa-close-hart-and-sommelier-alessandro-medici-palladio-barboursville-va

Palladio looks like a great outing, http://barboursvillewine.net/winery/p...

I went to Palladio about 3 years ago and I thoroughly enjoyed the wine pairing dinner and bought some of the wines when we left. I've wanted to go back again just haven't had an opportunity.

Had lunch at Palladio about a year or so ago. Very seasonal, local cooking. They have a few different tasting menu options, even for lunch, with wine pairings. All of which were very reasonably priced. I apologize for not remembering any of the specifics about the dishes but I know they were all quite good. It's definitely a good time, if you're willing to make the small hike from DC.
