Dinner Near Nob Hill

I will be in SF in November and need a restaurant recommendation for dinner. Will be staying at the Mark Hopkins and looking for something original to the city. I've been to Tonga Room and House of Prime Rib... Maybe something in the way of Italian or seafood?

It would be helpful if the place takes reservations since there will be eight of us on a Saturday night. Any price range is fine and we're willing to to take a cab if need be. Thanks!
