DESPERATE! Need Restaurant for Dad's 70th B-day near Winward Pkwy / Alpharetta / Mall of GA
Hello out there,
My family will be in town the w/e of Oct. 22 for a bat mitzva which happens to coincide with my father's 70th Birthday, and my immediate family is looking to make off that Friday night to celebrate Dad.
We all live in NYC and so far I've completely struck out here. Everything I've come up with (Woodfire Grill, Star Provisions, Bacchanal) appears pretty far off, and I'm still hoping to create a bigger impression that the golden arches.
I'm looking for something upscale, quiet; market menus are great, as is French bistro or a good steakhouse. In NY he likes Annisa, Chanterelle (RIP), Wallse, The Odeon, Cafe Lu, Balthazar.
ANY IDEAS!!???
Thank you VERY much!!!

re: ggggaea
Eugene is no where near Windward--its very good but a little high priced for waha you get,in my view.Id also consider Le Petite Maison Maison in Sandy Springs, maybe 20 minutes from Windward--country French, very good and resonable.Pesti in Roswell is the same type restaurant. If you have a bbiggger group, try Violettes at I85 and Clairmont. All are alot less than Eugene
If you want a NY type restuarnt that is excellent, and not crowded on weekends, try McKendricks--its at Perimeter Mall, again a 20 minute run--its a "steak" house ,but has lobster etc.As a native NYC guy, yoll fell like your at home here in Mckendricks
