Pioneer Valley catering recommendations
I'm helping to organize my college reunion in Amherst, Mass. in May, and I was wondering if anyone could recommend any great catering companies/restaurants in the Pioneer Valley area. We are considering using the Black Sheep or Bub's BBQ, but as I haven't lived there in some time (coming up on five years!) wanted to find out what else was out there. Thanks so much.
The Blue Heron does a great job.

You may want to try Portabella. They have a shop in Amherst (College/South East St.) where they have prepared foods and gourmet products so that would give you a chance to taste what they offer. I have been to several events that they catered and they were all excellent. Black Sheep is good but IMO Portabella is better. You can't go wrong with Bub's but that may not give you much in the way of vegetarian options if that is important.

Pengyew Chen catered my wedding a few years ago. I can't recommend
him enough. His focus is Asian, but he can also do some Western classics:

I second Pengyew!

Haven't eaten Pengyew's food yet but have heard good things about him from people I trust, so consider his recommendation third-ed.

I have eaten Pengew's food many times. It is very good but not , shall we say, abundant, so order more than you (or he) think you need.

Portabella -- good food, good service, good people.
Black Sheep is highly over-rated IMHO.
