King's Cross/Angel - Student Budget [London]
Hello all, I've recently moved to the King's Cross area and am in need of some good (and cheap) restaurant recommendations, including places to buy groceries - particularly fruit and veg as these seem a tad overpriced (and disappointing) at every supermarket I've come across.
Thank you!

While you're at Chapel Market get the all you can eat at Indian Veg - it's sort of a London student/squatter rite of passage. I used to eat so much I wouldn't have to eat again for 24 hours - all for £2.75 (it's probably gone up a bit by now £3.50 perhaps?!)

re: themags
Chapel market on a Sunday 10-2 also includes the Islington farmer's market at the far end from Liverpool road, there are some great (and top quality) bargains to be picked up if you head along around 1.30.
In Angel itself there is good value at Angel Curry Centre on Chapel Market - decent bring your own Indian which always helps keep the price down.
Il Bacio pizzeria in Highbury, La Forchetta on Upper Street and the various Gallipollis on Upper Street all offer pretty decent value in terms of eating out.

Fruit & veg IS overpriced in supermarkets. Try Chapel Market in Angel, a short hop from Kings X.
it's on every day except mondays. It also has a cheap fish stand and butcher. Also, it is very close to a big sainsburys'..for cheaper groceries. Skip the Waitrose...too pricey! Good luck
