Chinese roast BBQ goose

Any of the Chinese roast BBQ establishments in Montreal making Chinese roast BBQ goose(maybe they make it on special order)? You can find Chinese roast bbq goose at a couple of the Chinese roast BBQ shops in Vancouver. You can even find Chinese roast BBQ turkey in Vancouver.

What specifically do you mean by Chinese roast BBQ goose? I ask because I have special ordered it from Montreal chinatown before (actually I had to bring in a fresh one and they were kind enough to cook it for me). What they gave me was basically a duck cooked in the BBQ Peking duck style.

AFAIK, there are no places in Chinatown that do real Peking duck. The dishes served in Chinatown restaurants all use Hong-Style roasted duck.

What about Peking Garden restaurant on Queen Mary(outside of Chinatown)? They're serving real Peking duck(not substituting HK-style roasted duck instead)?

Yeah, I read that thread and was intrigued. Looks promising even though the first course isn't crispy skin. It's going on my list of things try in the coming year for sure.

From what I know, there is none. Everytime my father goes to Hong Kong for vacation, that's the first thing he eats. Supposedly they don't make BBQ goose here is because the goose does not taste as good as they do back in Asia. Therefore they just stick with BBQ Duck. Hope this helps.

I've tasted Chinese roast BBQ goose at a Toronto-area Chinese BBQ establishment. I liked it, but it's not always available even in Toronto.

I was thinking at least maybe one of the better Chinese roast BBQ shops, would make it on request, or make it for special occasions(like at Christmas time).

The asian community in Toronto and Vancouver is so big that even if the goose is not as good as they are in Hong Kong, there is still enough of a demand to supply it. But in Montreal that's another case. I should be passing by Chinatown next week, and will ask the shop on La Gauthetiere if they do special orders. If so, I'll find out the price per goose, and see if anyone else is interested in one. Will post back when I find out.

Being Chinese, I know for a fact that they don't have bbq goose. My boyfriend's parents always bring one back from Toronto. There is less demand here compared to TO and Van, I guess.

Thanks for your response today. I tried the Chinese roast BBQ goose in Toronto at the only Chinese BBQ shop there that makes it(to my knowledge) & liked it very much(they constantly sell out their roast BBQ goose).
