nice restaurant in Gaithersburg that has menu with calorie counts?

I would like to take some friends out for dinner - they're in the Gaithersburg area. They're pretty old and button-down but are pretty well traveled so they're open to just about any cuisine however they would like a place with a menu that provides calorie info (we're all on a diet, sigh). Of course, fast food places have calorie info but we're looking for something much nicer.

I know - it's kind of asking the ridiculous - a place with excellent food that also churns out the same thing so consistently that they can reliably describe the number of calories.

Any suggestions? Willing to go to Germantown or Rockville if necessary but hoping I can find something in Gaithersburg simply because it's close to where they are.

  1. I don't know any places other than the major chains that offer calorie counts on the menu.

Ditto. The place you're looking for just doesn't exist.

Ditto again. However, I'd recommend Burma Road. No calorie count but it's easy to eat light there. The portions aren't huge, there are a ton of salads and you can always skip the rice.

      2. RockCreek in Bethesda?

Don't know of anywhere nice with nutritional info on the menu, but as far as restaurant recommendations, in Gaithersburg, if you don't want a chain, you are probably limited to O'Donnells or Flaming Pit.

In Rockville, Tower Oaks/Clydes is a good place to take visitors.

What are you talking about? Gaithersburg has dozens of non-chain restaurants. Have you ever even been to Gaithersburg?

In fact, I can only name a few national non-fast food chains that have a presence in Gaithersburg (California Pizza Kitchen, Ruby Tuesdays, IHOP, Red Lobster). There are a number of local chains here (Guapos, Dogfish Head) but the vast majority of restaraurants in Gaithersburg proper are independantly owned.

        2. Red Hot & Blue doesn't have their calorie counts on their menus (they wouldn't dare) but the do have a web site with nutritional information. I imagine there are other restaurants that follow this practice as well. If not, you could at least check out a menu on-line and see if their offerings fit within your general dietary guidelines.
