In search of pasta

  • 3

I will be doing the Boston Half Marathon Sunday, and would like some pasta Saturday night.

It doesn't have to be the usual 'Chow-ish' selection, just some decent food. I don't need to be trying anything new! I am staying near the Expo Center, so something close by would be preferable.

Thanks!

  1. Are you staying by the Bayside Expo Center or the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center? Either way, you're fairly close to Salvatore's in the Seaport District, which has decent pasta dishes. Another spot you might want to consider is Cafe Porto Bello on Broadway in Southie. And if you don't mind fighting the crowds in the North End, there are plenty of places there (check earlier threads for that area).

      Bayside.

Thanks for the info, I was looking to skip the North End, because of the crowds and because I want to restrain my inner foodie, and going there would NOT help!

How 'bout Giacomo's in the south end?
Really good old school italian american red-sauce spot. Great for carbo loading. Just get there relatively early so you don't have to wait too long. They do take reservations, but i'm not so sure how much they really honor them (i.e. we've made reservations and then ended up waiting around anyway..)
Not too far from the expo center, either.
        Good luck!
