need reccs on good meet up place for 10-20, not a sit down(restaurant with large bar, small plates, gastro pub)

Central location preferred. Saturday night. Right now we are thinking Absinthe, Cav or 21st Amendment. Its been awhile since Ive been back up in the city - any thoughts?

  1. Epic Roasthouse's upstairs Quiver Bar might fill the bill. In addition to the bar, there's a long, high pub style table and a good view of the Bay. You can check the menu here: http://is.gd/fNifu

    1. cav is no longer serving food.

absolutely no way you're getting into absinthe on a saturday night unless it's after midnight

      1. If it's early enough on a Saturday (before 9pm) you should be able to get space at 15 Romolo. Great drinks and bar food.

        1. As of last month, Cav Wine Bar is only open for special events or retail sales by appointment.

            1. What about La Trappe in North Beach?

              1. Thirsty Bear. Their front area is huge, and would swallow 10/20 without flinching. The food is quite good and the bar is decent for classic cocktails. Only real problem is they tend to have DJs on Saturdays starting at some point.

21st amendment - great place to stop on a warm day, but the food's pedestrian at best.

                  I second Thirsty Bear.
Good food and beer, and I have reserved the upstairs for groups. It's quieter when they have a DJ and there's a pool table.

                2. We chose La Trappe and had a great time. You dont find Grimbergen on tap that often and we could not resist. Thanks for all the suggestions . . .

I'm glad you enjoyed it. Were you downstairs? It is a fun place and I don't even care much for beer:)

we were downstairs. the space was very cozy, reminded me of a places in NYC. I still get woozy thinking about how much Grimbergens I had
