Tommy's or Irene's
I've narrowed down my choices for my "Quintessential Dining" trip, and decided that one of the dinners must be Creole Italian. So, chowhounds, should it be Irene's (been there one, loved it) or Tommy's? There will be 3 of us, dining probably around 8pm (on a Friday night). Does either place take reservations? Any particular things we should order at either place?
I prefer Tommy's because they take reservations. Both are outstanding. Tommy's has a nice bar. And I like to hang out at Emeril's bar in the next block if there's time. The oyster and shrimp appetizers at Tommy's are excellent. And I love his lamb chops. The fish special is always good and I like the duck too.

Both are very good though I'd probably give Irene's the edge. Even w/reservations on our most recent visit to Irene's (a Thursday, I think), we waited quite a while (though we enjoyed ourselves w/cocktails as we waited). Another good choice that falls into the "Creole Italian" category is Eleven79.
Irene's. Just took my wife there for our anniversary & they could not have done better. Very romantic, food was timely but not rushed, waited a LONG time to get the table, but what we got when we got there made us feel like we just got married again. A total 10.
