Has anyone eaten at The Nook in Santa Monica?

Wanted to know know your thoughts about The Nook in Santa Monica. Any menu recommendations?

I would agree with the assessment "solid, but unspectacular." No specific dishes come to mind as being particularly great or bad.

I haven't been in a while, but I thought the food has been solid, but unspectacular. Good neighborhood spot, but not worth a drive.

If you go, look for the blue arrow and follow that.

I really like the pork belly, crab cake, shrimp & grits.
Service has always been good except wine the waiter kept wiping the top of the wine bottle with his hand. ew

I had a burger and a small caesar salad a few months back at the end of their lunch service. The food was very good and they did not rush me even though I was finishing up after their lunch service was over.

I had lunch there a couple of weeks ago. Not impressed with either the food or the service.

Dinner is when the place really shines.
Food comes out fresher, and there is more help on duty to take care of any potential serving lapses.
But as to the food, I have enjoyed everything I have eaten there.
And I am hardly alone in that thought, the place is always packed for dinner, from 6:30 till at least 10pm.
Short ribs, the burger, fries, any of the evening specials are always good places to start.
