Kid-friendly restaurant for dinner in Los Feliz area

Hi. Basically the title says it all. The kid is around 8 years old -- have no clue as to his food preferences. But we'd like to find a place where the food will be appealing to adults as well. The best I could come up with is Umami Burger.

Due to other circumstances, we needed to be in a different location and went to Cobras and Matadors. It was perfect for what we were looking for. Food was good. Kid had the skirt steak (after the waitress had to replate it sans cucumbers as he refused to eat meat that touched the veggies -- sigh!) while the adults ordered several tapas. The atmosphere was what we were kind of looking for -- bit bustling. Although there were no other kids in that restaurant when we ate, they must have kids come in from time to time because they provided crayons for the boy.

Thanks all for your recommendations. I'll keep these in mind next time we'll be in Los Feliz in the same situation.

Home Restaurant, 1760 Hillhurst Ave. Huge menu, lots of kid-friendly stuff.

that's doable, but a little adventurous for most kids. maybe Palermo's.

I found out that Umami Burger is willing to make a plain hamburger or cheeseburger. With that in mind, is Palermo's still more suitable for the occasion?
