Went to the new Mission Wine & Spirits store that just opened on Burbank Blvd. just east of Woodman this morning.
Wow, what a collection of quality products at very good prices. Temperature-controlled room just to the left as you enter the store from the rear parking lot has a decent-very good collection of quality French and California premium wines, including DRC and that stratosphere. In addition, Jason who gave me a bit of a tour of the wine section said there will be a major selection of champagnes, his personal alcoholic love, developed as soon as some more shelving in that room can be acquired, but it will be soon.
You want vodka, major selection at quality discount prices.
The place is Mission Wine & Spirits, which has existing locations in west Glendale and Pasadena/Altadena. Address is 13654 Burbank Blvd., Sherman Oaks, 91401, 818.785.6529
They opened last Friday in the former Paradise Ranch Market space that has been MAJORLY remodeled and superbly upgraded. Hours 9am-8pm, closed Sundays.
At last, a place to get a good collection of products at very fair prices with a knowledgable staff - sorry bevmo, no 5¢ sale needed.

I've been going to the Mission Wine & Spirits store in Pasadena for several years (since before it moved into the building next door) and can affirm that you're lucky to have one. Good find.

Carter, this is really good to know.

I've been watching Mission in construction since the location was Ranch Market. I couldn't imagine a quality wine & spirits store going in across the street from a liquor store but it sounds fantastic. I'm definitely going to drop by, see if I can supplement my wine cellar.

Steve2 - only current product availability, no older bottles, but the likes of DRC and many another familiar logo on the shelves, can't imagine you won't find a few opportunities for cellar supplementation. And if you can't, I willl definitely want to start drinking from your cellar!!!
