Need Suggestions for a "Culinary Exploration" of SF

I will be visiting at the end of the month to do some work related culinary exploration (love my job!) of San Francisco and surrounding areas. I've gathered some great restaurant ideas from this site and other sources, but what I am looking for now are those other must try items. Pastries, confections, cocktails, street foods, sandwhiches...any must tries that don't fall into the traditional restaurant catergory. Tell me what's new, exciting, and unique that we should check out...we're ready to try anything!
