ISO Junior Mints varieties

I picked up a bag of mini Junior Mints at Von's and have never been able to find this delicious candy since! They are approximately m&ms size and have a hard outer chocolate coating with the standard mint filling inside. They were so good!!! I think I found them around Valentine's Day (or possibly Christmas) but they didn't appear to be holiday related. Has anyone come across these recently? If so, where? Thanks!

  1. I remember having these too at some point but haven't seen them recently. This sort of thing is my favorite type of candy - I really love the mint M&M's at Christmas time.

By the way, I saw an ad on TV recently for several different popular candies in "m&m" form, including York Peppermint Patties. That would have to be pretty similar to m&m style junior mints, no? I'm pretty sure I have seen these in the candy isle at local supermarkets.

    2. have you tried target? that's where i bought some junior mints before. i don't know if they have minis, but it's worth a shot.

      1. Other than size, how are the mini's different than regular jr. mints. I really don't like jr mints and it maybe ten years since I've had one.

        1. The company that currently owns Junior Mints (Tootsie now owns them but they have been sold numerous times over the last few years) does make something call Junior Mints Minis, but are very hard to find. They don't even sell them on their own web site (although you can buy the regular size at the site). Your best bet is to go with the tiny York Pepperment Patties made by Hershey's.

Nobody asked, but I much prefer York Peppermint Patties to the Junior Mints candies. The Junior Mints always leave a funky aftertaste -- somewhat similar to a tobacco taste -- while the York Peppermint Patties always taste clean and minty!

          2. There is a new candy-soda store on Green Street in Pasadena (Old Town). They have every candy I've ever seen including stuff from my childhood like abba zabba bars and pixie sticks. Give them a shot.
