Italian wine grapes

  • 6

I want to buy some white and red grapes (Italian variety). Where can I buy them by the case? I will be down for work next weekend. I will have a car and can drive within the GTA.

  1. You could try Macedo on Ossington, but you might need to order ahead. For winemaking? Grapemasters sells through fermentations on the Danforth. They also carry fresh juice, though mostly from argentina, chile, california, etc.

I would take some juice, but not sure. Will look online at Macedo. It will be for winemaking.

I don't think Macedo has a webpage. They may have what you are after, but it would definitely help to speak portuguese. . .

tdh, maybe your experience has been different than mine, but I've been into the Macedo on Dufferin (north of Dupont) lots of times, and I've always had no trouble getting what I wanted. (And I don't speak a word of Portuguese.)

I don't think Portuguese is likely to be an issue.

    2. My dad gets his grapes from Piazza Grape Juice in Mississauga. Probably heading there this afternoon with him to get some for this year. I will try to take note of what is available:

We ended up going to a place in Oakville which was closer. Never been before, prices seemed a little higher but the distance probably saved money. Place is located on Speers Rd. close to Fantasy Fruit Market. Dad got Grenache, Cabernet sauvignon, Ruby and I forget the 4th. He uses a mix, mainly Grenache and a bit of the others.
