Looking for very inexpensive, yummy meal in Chelsea

lovessushi Oct 2, 2010 02:39 AM

Looking for somewhere that we can get a quick, fresh dinner - ideally under $15 a person - under $10 would be better though - drinks and tip not included.

Thinking about ramen, curry, maybe middle-eastern?

Near 19th between 6th and 7th or that general area-

Thank you!

Try Grey Dog Coffee on 16th btwn 7th and 8th. Great sandwiches and salads, some heavier entrees too.

Not in Chelsea but very close to the are you specified, I love the sausages and house made sodas at Dogmatic near Union Square. Good bread too.

Thank you both - definitely put both on my list of things to try!

Pars on 26th St between 7th and 8th Ave, is an Iranian place that's gotten good commentary here recently (haven't been recently myself)

Oooh - that is definitely something we would be interested - I will check it out - thanks-

And please keep the ideas coming - we are in that area a lot and are looking for something other than cheap pizza! :)

Pars is great but must be more than $10-15 pp! I second Grey Dog, also recommend Westville (the market plate is pretty cheap and so fresh & tasty) - I've also recently ordered from Co ba, this new Vietnamese place on 19th and 7th, which was very reasonably priced, very fresh, and delicious!

Yes, unfortunately the problem with Pars is that it is a bit too expensive - but it does look good. Westville looks interesting as well - I looked at their menu and definitely want to go! Also Co ba sounds interesting - I want to try that as well. Thank you-
