Maine lobster

We will be taking a roadtrip from Boston to Maine in November. Any suggestions for a good but not-too-pricey restaurant for lobster that would be open that time of year?

R.arely eat here as it's a wicked tourist trap but just had a very good bowl of clam chowder at DiMillo's in Portland. They were running a special of a 2 lobster dinner for $24. Don't know how long the special will last but for your basic lobster deal, not too bad.

Newick's has re-opened it's South Portland restaurant in a different location this past summer.

Unfortunately, Beach Plus doesn't have indoor seating. You'd have to eat outdoors at a picnic table, or take your food to go.

Just went to Beach Plum today (November 13). We ordered 3-1.75 pounders and ate at one of the two picnic tables still remaining. They are steaming the lobsters at this time of year, although the boiling vat was still there. It was great! Plan ahead and be sure to bring your own sides and drink. The lobster was perfect and delicious and very well priced.

If you're in the Portland area, The Good Table in Cape Elizabeth is a moderate priced and very, very comfortable place that serves great seafood as well as many other things. Lobster is always on the menu and was probably caught the same day it's served to you.

Probably the southern coast. We will be driving up from Boston for two days and one night.

Many of the places I would recommend at other times of the year will be closed for the season, but The Lobster Barn on Route 1 in York is open, as is Mike's Clam Shack on Route 1 in Wells, and Warren's Lobster House in Kittery. They're all good. Coupons are available on Warren's Web site.

Disagree re Warren's, but the other places are good; there are numerous bad reviews of Warren's! Be careful.
