Cucina Alessa or Onotria this Friday and cocktails on Saturday

My wife and I decided on a short weekend trip to Newport Beach with a tasting menu at Marche Modern on Saturday. We are looking now for a restaurant for tomorrow night and were thinking about someting Italian (inspired) which is open late sonce we might arrive late. Looking through the different posts it looks like that Cucina Alessa and Onotria get good reviews. Any comments which would be better for good food and also relaxed, not rushed service.
We are also looking for a nice place which serves good cocktails after our visit to Marche Modern. Does something like Tar Pit, Roger Room, Library Bar exists in OC ?
hi honkman -
have not been to cucina alessa, but have been to onotria a few months ago. like you i am a big fan of marche moderne. personally, italian is not one of my favorites as a cuisine, but onotria's menu is eclectic and unique. my wife had octopus, i had osso bucco. absolutely enjoyed it. our service experience was relaxed.
We went to Old Vine Cafe a few months ago and and even though it wasn't bad and their efforts are great we found the meal overall not really memorable. We were planning to try it again in the future but would like to test another restaurant this weekend and Onotria seems like a good option.
