Noticed this place the other day, it was only 6PM and the place was empty. Has anyone been? BTW haven't seen a lot of discussion about Tiella (1109 First Ave @ 61 St) but the food, service and ambiance are fantastic. The tiella w/truffles is out of this world, as is the spaghetti w/clams and zucchini sauce.

HI Julia, yes I have been and know one of the chefs ( Enzo).. aside from this, the pizza and especially the panuozzo, are really excellent.
They do not have a wine/beer list but invite people to BYOB if they wish.. and if you like coffee, the crema di caffe is the bomb.

      2. Well, the biggest new thing is that Willy's, Triangolo, Primavera, Le Beouf a la Mode, Le Refuge, Etats Unis etc etc have closed. RIP. Cascabel Taqueria has moved into Willy's.

        1. I live on 87th and 2nd and have been out of town most of the summer. I've been walking around the 'hood the past couple of days and hardly recognize the place.

Second between 87th and 72nd looks like it's had a lot of turnover in the past few months. I noticed Noodles 28 is now some other Asian place, Jasmine is gone, Willy's is gone, Etas Unis is gone, the old UT-DT has turned over for a third time.

I need to find some time to get out and try some of the new spots!

There's a new Vietnamese on E. 86th, next to P.C. Richards. Haven't tried it yet. Also, Tolache is going into the Le Refuge spot but, as far as I know, hasn't opened yet. Hope to try the Vietnamese some time this week.

Ruth do you mean Toloache, as in the Mexican place in midtown?

          2. We had a great meal at the new Le Bistro D' A Cote on First Ave at 83 Street. I won't go on about what we ate, I just want to say we were impressed with the food, the service, the ambiance. This place is a real plus for the neighborhood.

Also tried Tiella on First Ave at 61 Street. Spectacular meal.
