For the best fresh turkey, go to Fernando's on Roy. Order ahead and you will have the best turkey! Helpful staff too! We had great service last year and a very succulent bird.

A couple of supermarkets I've seen (PA and Intermarché "saveurs internationales") are featuring capons in lieu of turkeys for the weekend supper.

There is also a butcher shop on St Denis corner Liege in Villeray. Salaison Drouin. It's got a new owner who''s spruced it up and keeps the place open every day. Most importantly, the meat sold is fresh and excellent. And they let you order fresh turkey for Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Good to know about Drouin. It has always had some good products. Not that I'd ever roast a whole turkey, but perhaps they also sell it in small-household-friendly forms. Fernando's certainly does. msmlcd, does Drouin have any other interesting specialities now?

There are also good fresh turkeys at Jean-Talon Market, but they are rather pricy.

they have a great variety of meat on offer. plus cheeses AND premiere moisson baguettes, a welcome addition. rabbit. duck. they have cuts of meat already marinated. and i think they do offer turkey in pieces for the small household. :)
