Le Severo - better for lunch or dinner, and do we need reservations?

Title says it all. Husband and I want to go to le severo for some good boeuf on our trip in 2 1/2 weeks. Preferably would like steak frites but will feel out our order when we get there. Should we plan to go for lunch or dinner, and should we make reservations? How bad is the wait without a reservation in mid-October? I apologize in advance if these are silly questions...I have a tendency to ask those!

I prefer the lunch atmosphere, most subjectively, and also because you need some afternoon walking to walk off the calories.

OK good - that's what we were thinking! Reservations necessary for lunch?

Always for reasons I've given previously.

OK Thanks John! I'm beating a dead horse, I know - but do you happen to know if it's open on Sunday or Monday? We arrive in Paris Sat afternoon and will most likely miss lunch hours, and Tues we scored a res at Nomiya! (Those are our only days in Paris...). Thanks!

Severo and bis de S. are open except Sat & Sun.
