Mt. Vernon, WA

Is there a good Chinese buffet in Mt. Vernon for lunch?

Good news, you do not have to endure dining at Bamboo Garden any more! There is a new Chinese Buffet - The Four Seasons. It's on Burlington Blvd, across from the Mall, next to Pier One. It is large, clean and has lots of choices, including sushi and grill.

google chinese buffet, mount vernon, i think its bamboo garden. no ambience but good value for lunch. i like the mussels, inari sushi. avoid desserts, go for fresh fruit, sugared chinese donuts, sesame balls sometimes available. avoid sui mai. punch card and vip discount card for the asking. tea now $1 extra. dinner adds other seafood but i'm not partial to their crab or oysters.
mount vernon area has many good thai places, japanese Sakura is good, asia 1 good. wok inn has good mongolian beef.

If by good value you are referring to quantity - OK. If you are referring to quality - forget Bamboo Garden. It's dark, dingy and mediocre at best.

too true it has mass quantities of food. not a date place. but for under $10 the inari sushi is excellent with topping i've never had elsewhere. and you really can't mess up fresh fruit or chicken wings. the pepper chicken is not as crisp as it used to be. but the beef is pretty good and tender. favorite chinese, buffet or not, in mount vernon and better than some places down in seattle. actually glad i'm not closer as it is mass quantities.

this is probably less than fully helpful but 2 or 3 years ago i was taken to a fairly decent chinese buffet in a large but slightly scruffy shopping center with a goodwill or similar thrift shop near the main downtown intersection about 1/4 mile east of the interstate

You're probably thinking of Bamboo Garden next to the Value Village. It is a big intersection, but thankfully that is not our downtown, which is a mile south and much much nicer.

I have never had good Chinese food in Mount Vernon, but we do have some excellent Thai places, not to mention taco trucks.

C'mon Freida, you don't like the place at the bowling alley :)

I've eaten there and it was, well, OK.

No, haven't been to the bowling alley, but I'm willing to try it if you think it's worth it :)

                I wouldn't make a special trip :)

Maybe if you're there to roll a couple of games...

It has been my experience that good and Chinese buffet do not go together anywhere.

But the only Chinese place in town that I know of is at the bowling alley, and it's not bad.
