5 Saisons Sushi
I treated myself to a great lunch at a restaurant I have been wanting to try for a while. 5 Saisons Sushi on Sherbrooke St in NDG. All I wanted was sashimi...i did not want Sushi. Plus I was alone with my new book from Jeffrey Steingarten called The Man Who Ate Everything.
So I can only comment on the $16.95 lunch I had which included a miso soup, salad and 16 pieces of extremely fresh fish. When fish melts in your mouth, or should I say, when my sashimi melts in my mouth I go to a special place for that moment. I went there 16 times at lunch.
although the miso was served lukewarm and the salad was lovely: the sashimi stood out: tuna, salmon, scallops, cooked shrimp, white fish, and one I could not figure out...nevertheless this whole platter came with steamed rice (not sushi rice) just in case I wanted the contrast of tastes.
I am so excited that NDG plays host to this 'very downtown' sushi restaurant complete with white tablecloths and wine glasses.
Now if someone could write about the sushi and some of the other lovely dishes they had on their menu, it would be much appreciated.
