How did I miss Falafel in Eastchester
I am not sure how I failed to hear about this, and I have no idea if it is actually good.
However, I came across this web site for the unfortunately named "Open Table Grill Bar" (I say unfortunate because try googling it).

Anyway, I will probably be thwarted again in my quest, but Eastchester is very convenient for me. How I wish there was a good falafel there. It at least seems to be Israeli (not Greek) which is good. And they say "Falafel in Pita".
I may try to check this out soon. But if anyone else has heard, I would like to hear about this.

Just got back from there today and I think we have a winner! The falafel sandwich is in a pita pocket. It was sturdy enough to withstand the ten minute drive to Fleetwood and did not fall apart or get soggy. They did not use iceberg lettuce (which I hate). It was drowning in tahini which is a good thing.
If Azuri Cafe in NY is a 10 and the awful Ali Baba Falafel near the Cross County is a 1, I give this falafel a solid 8.5 (maybe a 9). We finally have achieved decent Falafel in Westchester. Cannot compare it to the new one in Hastings, but now I doubt I will make the trip there since I have a closer Falafel in Eastchester. The only thing I forgot to do was have them put some hot sauce on there.
Very pleasant diner atmosphere with a long counter to sit at if you are by yourself. I also think I would like to buy a tub of their hummous as it was really delicious in the sandwich.

Roxlet, it is the other side of Mill from DD. I also went this week-end and almost missed it because the sign is blocked by a tree. I expected it to be in the strip of stores behind Stop & Shop, but I was glad I kept looking.
Mrsdebdav, I didn't see any sign of alcohol on the premises but the staff were very friendly and I think they wouldn't mind BYOB. Strange, I would normally check out the beverage selection while waiting for take-out but I didn't this time.
Jcmods, mostly agree with your review. I would have liked the pita to have been given a little toasting on the grill, but that's nitpicking. Maybe I'll remember to ask for that next time. There will definitely be a next time.

re: Sloth
Just saw this post, and tried again today, unsuccessfully to find it. I wound up in the deli in the shopping center with Dunkin Doughnuts, thinking it was the place. I was with a homesick Egyptian who was very excited with the prospect of felafel. Oh, well. We wound up having pastrami, which he never had before, and which he liked. I will try to find it again this weekend!

I can't tell you how many times I've driven down Mill Road wondering where the heck this place is. Now I know, and next time I'll just pull over when I get to the area. With the tree blocking the sign, it is surely difficult to see. I was beginning to think that it must be down Mill Road near the post office on the other side of 22!

I stopped in there briefly to get a drink while doing laundry and the place was pretty crowded and smelled great. That being said, it looked like all the locals were sticking to burgers and fries and not being very adventurous. Might have to hit there on my next day off.

re: jhopp217
Yeah, the only review I found on Yelp was for the burger which said it was burnt to a crisp. Anyway, if I go to a place like that it is the last thing I would want and is probably only served because it is a necessity due to all the unadventurous people in the world. The fact that it is closed Saturday bodes well for its authenticity, but it still is kind of a pain for me.
