Fish Story, Napa
I haven't tried it, but noticed it as we were walking around after dinner at Celedon the other night. There was a nice crowd there and lots of outdoor seating for dinner. The servers were delivering large platters of appetizers to several tables as we walked by. I noticed a bit of unpleasant smell in the air from the tide being out and the river being low . . .
Looking forward to giving this a try at some point if reviews look good.
I went here last night and it was good. I haven't been to this area in Napa for years and am pleasantly surprised at how nice it is now, though the waterfront almost reminds me a little of the Venetian in Las Vegas.
Got there around 7:30 and the restaurant was packed. The place is smaller than it looks from the outside, but great atmosphere and vibe.
The two of us had:
Ahi tartare (not a whole lot of flavor or originality, but fish was very fresh)
Shrimp and Grits (very creamy, great mushrooms, good flavor)
Lobster Roll with fries (very good lobster roll. Fresh lobster, light mayo. Fries were kind of like In-N-Out but thicker. The coleslaw was bland.)
Great wine list, as expected in the Napa Valley.
Service was excellent. Our waitress was friendly, attentive and was full of information about sustainable fish when my friend asked.
Overall, nice experience. I would go back, though I want to try Morimoto's next door first.
