Cheap or moderate suggestions in Vegas?

I'm going to Vegas with one of my friends next week, and we're looking for some good, cheap or moderate suggestions. I'm pretty adventurous and enjoy food a lot, she's less adventurous (but we should be good to go if she can get a decent steak or American food). Any suggestions?

  1. What is your price range? Will you have a car? Where are you staying?

Thanks for asking for clarification. We're staying at New York, New York and we don't have a car. Price range...I would say cheap eats anything $12 and under for entree (like quick lunches, etc.) and moderate anything from $15-25 for an entree. I don't know if that's possible, this will be my first time in Vegas. Thank you.

The first thing to consider is taking the Deuce (the double decker) bus on the Strip. $7 per person for a twenty four hour pass. Exact change only.

        Some places to check out:
        Burger Bar at Mandalay Bay

        Mon Ami Gabi at Paris

Ellis Island Casino for their off the menu $6.99 steak dinner available 24/7. This is about a ten minute walk from Flamingo and the Strip and is behind Ballys on Koval Lane. The steak special includes a twenty ounce micro brewed bear or root beer, soup or salad, ten ounce top sirloin, garlic green beans and choice of rice or potato.

The Peppermill is a retro coffee shop with good food.

The Wynn Buffet is probably the best buffet in town. They do not close between lunch and dinner. They start serving dinner at 3:30 pm. Get in line at 3:00 pm. and pay $24.81 (price includes tax) and you can stay for dinner. Dinner includes prime rib, jumbo peeled shrimp. cracked king crab legs, etc. It is worth the money.

        Mon Ami Gabi
3655 Las Vegas Blvd S, Las Vegas, NV 89109

BTW... NYNY has my favorite food court in town. It's near the Zumanity Theater. GREAT cheap lunches and you don't even need to leave the property.
