Atlantic Antic

Just a reminder that tomorrow is the Atlantic Antic, one of the two best food street events in NYC. The other is the Caribbean Labor Day Parade on Eastern Parkway which has even more food booths and certainly more "homemade food" ones, but is not as diverse as the Antic. Also the Antic has lots of booths connected to local restaurants from French to Caribbean to middle eastern to Spanish to South Asian. It's a great event.

    Other than 1 or 2 forays to the other end of Atlantic, we'll be hanging out at La Mancha (off Henry St.) with the grilled sardines much of the day if anyone wants to stop and sit for awhile.

      At 2 for $6 bucks...slightly obscene. OK, OK, the pair I bought were pretty darn good, just not the thickest and juiciest as in years past.

      Double-whammy this year in that Portugal Day on Ferry Street was canned for political reasons...the going rate with a nice slab of broa was a buck-apiece.
