Rice Crispy Treats
I am going to make the crispy treats with my little neighbor. Believe it or not I have never made these. I was looking through recipes and I saw that I can use the marshmallow fluff, this would be easier to obtain, need to be kosher. Are they just as good?
Also, I thought of trying to make them in shapes. I have a a mini gingerbread cake pan, and I thought I would use that. Do you think if I grease them enough, they will come out?
I am going to put either chocolate chips, or m&m's in them. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. TIA
I actually prefer them as is-but on occasion I like the addition of butterscotch chips. Also, I always use butter, not margarine although I don't know if this is kosher or not. They are very hot when done and need to be spread in the pan(s) quickly. To save my fingers and prevent stickiness, I butter a rubber spatula well and use it to spread the hot mixture.
Here is another fun one you might try if you have rice krispies left.
Yum Yum Balls
1 package large marshmallows
1 package Kraft caramels
½ cup real butter
½ cup eagle brand milk
Melt carmels, butter and milk in double boiler. Dip marshmallows in caramel mixture and roll in rice krispies. Let cool. These keep well.
