It's my husbands 75th birthday and I want the BEST birthday cake in Astoria for him. Please help.

I go to LaGuli bakery on Ditmars at 31st street, across the street from the Starbucks. They have never disappointed me in the bday cake category. Old fashioned Italian place.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions. Yes, janie, it has to be Astoria for time reasons. I think I'll go to LaGuli. Although I've never had any cake from them, their products do look good.

Manducatis Rustica really nearby in LIC made my excellent strawberry shortcake birthday cake last summer.

We had a Red Velvet birthday cake ordered from Terrizzi's bakery on 30th avenue. It was too good for words.

I would go with Artopolis or Astor Bake Shop. The cake is better at Astor Bake Shop IMO.

Why don't you head over to Cannelle in East Elmhurst, their cakes are wonderful---or if it has to be Astoria, I guess you could find something very good at Artopolis, but it really depends on the style of cake that you are after.
