Still Pumping Out Good Food After All These Years & Food Intolerant Friendly!
Patit Creek Restaurant has been packing 'em in for miles around for around 30 years, but it was only recently that we were able to have a meal there. When I made the reservations, I asked what the entrees were because I have some food intolerances. The lady on the phone said they could accommodate them and asked what they were. Much to my surprise, when we showed up at the restaurant, the chef had made a soup (dinner comes with both soup and salad) especially for ME, taking into account all the foods I couldn't eat! Primarily celery in a smooth puree, thickened by rice flour, and given a sweet tanginess by apple, the soup was delicious! My husband's clam chowder, he reported, was only pedestrian. Tossed salads were strewn with rose petals and the blackberry vinaigrette was excellent. My chicken riesling was very good--two boneless, skinless, chicken cutlets in a light tarragon flavored sauce (no dairy) with grapes and mushrooms. My husband's veal piccata was excellent. For dessert, I had a bruleed peach topped with raspberry sorbet and a berry sauce. The sugar brulee really made the peach! My husband's blackberry pie was less successful--the filling was good, but the crust was not baked enough.
That said, we enjoyed our meal and I really appreciated the lengths the kitchen was willing to go to accommodate my food intolerances. Kudos to the owners for maintaining such a high standard after all these years
