Yes, and anyone who's willing to pay $190 for a meal cooked by Bob f**king Blumer is out of their minds. No thanks.

even then...that's the equivalent of 20 burritos. I honestly can't imagine paying that much for a single meal.

$190 for existential eggs? Is the price really high because he's on the Food Network? knothxbai.

While I don't know enough about wines to be completely sure, a lot of the ones on the menu look like they're probably pretty rare/expensive vintages, so I imagine a good chunk of the price is going to cover that.

Even then, the price is pretty ridiculous. But I expect they'll still sell it out.

The wines are not rare, but well chosen and appropriately aged.
I bought the Trentham '96 Shiraz for $27 when the LCBO released it, and opened one a year ago.
It was dense, fruity, layered, and long lasting on the pallet but frankly, it was mostly Shiraz, like many others.

              Here is the menu link

Actually... Blumer was hosting and presenting...

The food was cooked by Cava's Chris McDonald and his excellent Sous Chef Doug P.

Are you sure? I was speaking with Bob on monday and he told me he had been doing prep at George Brown since early Sunday morning. Also, the menu is almost all recipes from his cookbook. Maybe at the actual venue in the Distillery, he handed it over to Chris McDonald?

I heard that Bob developed the menu, yes from his cookbook, and his friend Chris from Cava helped prepare, along with the students from George Brown. Sounds like it was a pretty awesome meal.
                And it was sold out.
