Hot Dogs @ Joe's Farm Grill...

Last night my wife and I had a craving for hot dogs but our usual place Higley Hot Dog was already closed. I knew it was still hot dog month at Joe's so off we went. We ordered a cordon bleu (smoked ham wrapped dog, swiss cheese, dijon aioli and topped with a fried egg), 3B Dog (bacon, bleu cheese and bbq sauce), Rueben Dog (self explanatory) and a Swedish (garlic mash potato and lingon berry sauce). First let me say the cordon bleu was by far the richest hot dog i've eaten in my life. I was expecting my heart to stop after finishing half of it. The aioli tasted more like a mornay sauce combine that with the swiss cheese and runny yolk from the fried egg...wow!!! 3B dog and the Rueben tasted exactly how it would sound. Our least favorite was the Swedish. We joked it was like eating a hot dog from IKEA. Overall we were very happy with combination we got and will definitely return to try the rest before "the dog days of summer" is over.

We sampled 6. Our top 3 were Ruben, Buffalo, and Carolina. The Ruben was put together well and had the right amount of each ingredient. (except the hot dog, see below) The Buffalo was ok as was the Carolina.

We also tried the Sonoran, 3B, and Cordon Bleu.

If you've ever been to Tucson they have the best Sonoran Hot Dogs so I wasn't impressed. The 3B was ok, but we didn't finish it. The Cordon Bleu was a small bite each and in the garbage. Not a fan. I also didn't like the actual hot dog on any of them. If they would do a Hebrew National I think the dogs would have been much better.

Always like to try new things and appreciate you posting it. Had no idea they did this.

My wife thought the dogs tasted deep fried but when I went up to check they were prepared on a flat grill top. We did notice they were rather skinny and overcooked. Glad you had a chance to try!
