Dried porcini in the peninsula?

Hi,

I'm looking for a place to buy dried porcini mushrooms in quantity somewhere on the peninsula. Palo Alto, Mountain View, etc. I'm looking for a large litre-sized bag or larger (for instance, from an Italian importer) rather than one of those overpriced quarter ounce bags you find sometimes at supermarkets. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. I'm new in the area.

I didn't see anything on a search, but perhaps I had the wrong terms? Someone was talking about Polish importers in San Francisco but I'm hoping for a more local source.

Thank you.

I just checked Gourmet Corner in San Mateo. Sabarot Dried Porcini is $49 for 1 pound. They also had dried morels for $198 per pound.

Gourmet Corner in San Mateo. I believe I saw it there. It is supposed to be wholesale prices, but I'm not positive. They have a lot of hard to find products -- French products. Google that.

I feel like I saw largish bags in Millbrae at either Kimberly's Fine Foods (http://www.kimberlysfinefoods.com/ind...) or Dean's Produce (451 Broadway). Sorry I can't remember which, maybe you can call and check?

I can't tell if ordering online is fine for you, but here's Far West Fungi:

Their farm is located in Moss Landing; maybe you can see if you can go to their facility?
