RIP Carman

  • 1

"He immigrated to Canada as a young man and worked for a short time in Saint John, New Brunswick and then Montreal, Quebec before opening Carman's Dining Club in 1959 at 26 Alexander Street in Toronto. For 50 years, patrons spanning over three generations enjoyed the ambience, garlic and great food that Carman provided with such a generous heart to all and served with such a genuine sense of humanity that he held for his fellow human beings."

  1. That's too bad, condolences to his family and friends, Carman's was a unique and special place. I have a friend who's first job in Canada was as a dishwasher at Carman's and he always spoke in glowing terms of how much he respected the man. Unfortunately he passed a couple years ago.
