charlotte to charleston

Hi, my wife and I are flying from Boston into Charlotte after which we are driving down to Charleston to spend a long weekend. I am very much interested in finding an off the beaten path bar/pub that has great food and an excellent local atmosphere during our drive down to Charlotte.

For lunch or dinner. Do you want a place to stop on the way to Charleston. What about Charleston. Have you made all your reservations there. We would be happy to help you with Charleston recommendations also.

Are you willing to go out of your way? Traditional BBQ places have limited hours.

Thanks for the responses. I am willing to go a bit out of the way in search of that authentic, southern, down home cooking atmosphere. We will be eating a ton in charleston so I would prefer to go somewhere off the beaten path prior to our arrival in Charleston.

A bit out of your way, but this place in Newberry SC (just north of Columbia off I26) is a very, very good place.

Go to Harry and Jean's @ Exit 79 on I 77 in Rock Hill, SC for good home style food, cold drinks and jazz music.

          Harry and Jean's Restaurant @ 1940 Cinema Drive, Rock Hill, SC 803 - 366 - 7878.
