We will be in Chicago for the Columbus Day weekend, and we are a family that craves mussels and french fries by the bucket (this includes our 12-year-old twins). Suggestions, please!
Thank you.

The Hopleaf, on the border between Andersonville and Uptown on Chicago's North Side, is a good place for moules frites, but they don't let kids in. www.hopleaf.com

Vincent is a recently-opened Dutch-themed restaurant in Andersonville (the space formerly did business as La Tache, a French bistro) and the Metromix listing says they have five different kinds of moules frites. http://chicago.metromix.com/restauran...

Browntrout on the northside has them, but please call first as their menu changes frequently.

The Publican has mussels and frites and both are excellent.

And to reiterate what Nsxtasy said, the Hopleaf has them and I think they are in the best in the city but they will absolutely not allow anyone under 21 in the bar or restaurant. No ifs, ands, or buts.

Hopleaf is the first place I heard about regarding moules frites, but since, as I said, half of us are twelve years old, the web site made it clear that as of now we'd be persona non grata. Thank you for the other suggestions. We can't wait.
