Instant Clear Jel in East Bay

Does anyone know where you can buy in the East Bay a product called Instant Clear Jel (a modified corn starch that's approved for home canning, e.g., thickening pie fillings that are put up)? I know you can order it online, but the shipping charges tend to be about equal to the cost of the product, or more; plus, it will take over a week for me to receive it and I need it sooner than that. King Arthur re-brands it, but only sells online. I've tried The Food Mill in Oakland and Whole Foods in Oakland, neither of which sell it. Thanks so much!

found this reference to ClearJel in a Univ of Georgia extension bulletin online:

"The marketing plans being discussed for ClearJel® at the time home-canned pie filling recipes were developed have never materialized. Unfortunately, ClearJel® is available only through a few supply outlets and is not currently available in traditional grocery stores. Some bulk food stores or cooperatives may carry it; be sure you are getting ClearJel®.

I'd ask at some local bakeries, they may have a supplier for it, or sell you some packets.

You might give Spun Sugar a call.

I'd contact the company and ask if they have anyone retailing it locally.
