Now need b'day cake for foodie's 30th from Marin Cnty bakery.

May have a change in plans from my earlier post and I now need rec's for good b'day cakes (including frosting) from a bakery in Marin County. South county would be most convenient but am certainly willing to go north. thanks in advance to my fellow hounds.

I really like SusieCakes in Greenbrae for authentic homemade style cakes. I've never had anything but a good experience there.

My office is in Mill Valley, we have had many birthday cakes from the Champagne French Bakery.

I think we usually get the 1/4 sheet size for about 20 people. The cakes, like the 3-layer, 3 different chocolate mousse, are very elaborate and completely delicious. I am not a big cake fan, but I will always eat these. They have several varieties, all beautiful and all made with great ingredients.

The make a large plaque of marizpan and chocolate, that tops the cake, and write the birthday greeting on that, so that the birthday person can have that as a special souvenir.
