We went to Poole's last night for dinner. I got the vegetable plate and it was delicious. Just plain delicious. When you ask for the veg plate, you don't necessarily know what you'll get (it's up to the kitchen) but we lucked out and got the polenta, braised brussels sprouts, southern peas and braised greens. It was all fantastic, but the brussels sprouts were out of this world and usually, I *hate* sprouts. I highly recommend them.

I heard good things about Mac n Cheese, but I also hear it's 7 bucks or more.

The Mac & Cheese is 9, but honestly it's almost too much food for one person to have as a meal (it's listed with the sides). It's big and very very rich.

Usually you can get a few ideas about what's on the menu via Ashley's Twitter feed:

I assume you mean "Poole's Diner" in downtown Raleigh, NC?
