Post-Marathon Indulgence Reccos
My girlfriend is running the marathon this weekend and when she finishes she likes to go a little nuts with some indulgent food. Last year the run ended at College Park so we went to Caplanskys and had sandwiches and poutine. This year it ends at Nathan Phillips Square...any suggestions for some indulgent options within walking distance? If they serve beer that's a bonus.
Thanks in advance.

What about the Queen & Beaver? They have a good beer selection (and cocktails!), better-than-average pub grub (although I'd stick with the classics... fish & chips, burger, etc.), and a surprisingly delicious list of "puddings" if she's really gonna go for it (the sticky toffee is classic). They also have comfy couches if she wants to spread out to relax and a patio in case you get a good end-of-summer day.
And congrats to the ladyfriend on the marathoning... that's on my bucket list.

re: jamesm
Beast is a great choice, and the burger comes with some rather addictive tater tots. Earlier review and fuzzy pic here:

Keep running until you get to Hoof Cafe :P
My friends and I are heading to Beast after the race (good luck!!) which is at King & Bathurst. We aren't doing the full marathon so we don't mind the walk...
How about Grindhouse? You can probably polish off two well deserved burgers :-). I really love their bison burger›2 Replies -
