Is there a Fette Sau-type BBQ of Los Angeles?

Hi Chowhounds,

I know it's usually fruitless to look for a restaurant like the one you love in another city, but I'm dying for a Fette Sau type BBQ place in Los Angeles, or at least somewhere that serves meat from organic/heritage/small farms. Does this exist or am I SOL?

Thanks!

Are you talking about Fette Sau BBQ in Brooklyn? Uses heritage meats? Father's Office-style focus on brew. Etc.

As far as I know, you're SOL for _high-heritage_ barbequed fette sau (fat pig), but we have various places for pretending you didn't grow up on Bud Lite. The aforementioned F.O., for example.

Sorry I didn't clarify - yes, Fette Sau in Brooklyn. I have had some great burgers in Los Angeles (I didn't eat burgers in NY so I can't compare) at F.O., Rustic Canyon, Golden State, etc, but "fancy" BBQ doesn't really seem to be a thing in LA. Maybe I will try the balsamic pork ribs at Animal.

I guess eating an entire tray of meat should be a once or twice a year thing anyway ...
