Telma ONion Soup

paprkutr Sep 21, 2010 05:50 PM

I am in Los Angeles, and I am having a hard time getting Telma Onion Soup in the 2 package box. Is anyone else having the same problem?

I find that Lipton's is very salty and I am not restricted.

My adult kids noticed the difference in the flavor from other brands, I noticed the gravy when I put it on chicken had a thinner texture than with Telma in the package box. I think it might be out of circulation. so I will have to settle for liptons or goodmans. brand. I mix it with apricot/pineapple preserves and put it over seasoned chicken. I add mushrooms and bake in the oven. it's a good and fast dinner for Friday night.

Leaving aside the fact that this thread is over 3 1/2 years old, what about Osem brand? That's readily available in NY; I would assume you can find it in LA as well.

            And Goodman's brand is great.

I noticed a bit over a year ago that Telma stopped making the vegetable consomme cubes though. I was a bit disappointed about that...

I bought Telma onion soup at the end of Passover. Yesterday I made Apricot chicken with apricot jam, Russian dressing and Telma onion soup. The package contained 2 packages. I dont think I can find it now. It is so much better than Lipton.

Liptons is simply awful and too expensive to boot. I did see the canisters of telma at Acme in Narberth/penn valley, PA. Sorry West Coast people, but it seems as it is still available.

Thanks, I have been at Kosher Club, and they say they can't get it.

Did you know that 1/3 of a cup of the onion soup from the containers is the same as one small package? Much more economical.

Thank you, but I can't find the containers either. My butcher said that they haven't been able to get it since pesach.

I called Glatt Mart. They claim to have the Telma onion soup packets and the containers in stock. By the way, I bought kosher Liptons/Gefen onion soup packets at Albertson's today.

Where are you? I am in L.A. I have used the Liptons, but I find it much saltier. Thanks.

Try Sami on Fairfax. It's just north of Rosewood, Large selection of Israeli products. You might also try some of the kosher stores on Pico (the aforementioned Glatt mart), Elat market, Livonia Market and Pico Glatt (next to nagila Pizza)

Glatt Mart is at Pico and Shenandoah.

I live near Century City Shopping Center. I really miss the Telma envelope style in the box. I was getting my meat at Doheny Kosher on Pico, but after that scandal, I have been surfing kosher meat markets
