best restaurant in Tampa?

We will be in Tampa for one night. Any suggestions as to the the best, most interesting restaurant for us to eat in. We like all kinds of food.

Berns Steakhouse is a treat and an experience! Make sure to go on the kitchen and wine cellar tour after dinner!

And it is "interesting"....from parking through dessert as has been discussed here recently....It will be memorable in any event. I think it's a hoot.

Recently had dinner at Berns after not being there for years and, at the risk of making some enemies, I must say we were totally disappointed. I really think they're going on their old reputation. The food was okay. The steaks were good, but you can get that same quality at many different places. The service was okay, but a little rushed. The wine choices are amazing and with that said, the pinot noir we chose was not available. They did have another one at the same price point which was very good, but I wonder how many wines are listed but not available. We also had lunch at Pane Rustica and it was delicious. While eating at Berns I was sorry that we didn't go back there for dinner. Well, there's always next time.

    2. I nominate Pane Rustica. It's in a strip mall (in a good neighborhood), but don't let that fool you; service and food are terrific.

Seconded. best food - Pane. Most upscale/ostentatious steak place - Berns. Best view with fine dining - Armani's.

      2. If you only have one night in Tampa I would also vote for Berns. Maybe even Columbia in Ybor. Both are interesting have wonderful histories and are nationally known. Plus the food is good!

I believe it is Ruth's Hospitality Group (Ruth's Chris)

We have been there before but I was more impressed with my Margarita than my food.

It didn't impress me, either, but to each his own.
