any idea why? I didn't go there often but it was a good option in that area..

Maybe it had to do with the consistency of service. I tried to go not once, but twice within an hour of their stated opening time and didn't get any. Once the door was locked, although there were workers visible in the kitchen (who obviously saw us yanking at the doors) who ignored us. Another time the doors were open, no one in sight. Stood at the counter craning our necks and "Helloooooo"-ing for a good five or ten minutes before giving up. Not a good model for success.

I live right around the corner, and although I'm not around much I did notice that it was consistently empty. That could be a reason too.

I only made it there once before it closed, but I'm just happy that the Ba Le bakery is still there. I think there stuff was better overall.

Had my first Ba Le Bahn Mi yesterday - it was very good - I had the special and for once I actually knew there was pate on it! Guess I'll live without O (I didn't like the bahn mi at the place on 10th street between Arch and Market - mostly because of the bread, so I have been reluctant to try others, Ba Le's bread is that great crispy outside slightly soft inside bread that O had!)

O was pretty good. The fresh baguettes made the sandwich. I've had better bahn mi elsewhere, though..

Yeah it maybe wasn't the best banh mi ever but it was cheap, sunny and in a great location.
