Chef's Table

Any suggestions on a chef's table or chef's bar to take my boyfriend on Oct. 11, 2010. Any price range would work, I know most of the nice restaurants have one but I think a casual classic restaurant would be fun. Drink pairing is also not important. Also, any other foodie must-gos would be great. Thanks!

Mila is probably doing the most modern food, and then Stella, which is more international. Green Goddess is the most eclectic. I think Cochon may have created a new category of food. Meritage is very wine centric. August of course is high end, as is Le Foret. More Bistro type places would be Cuyee, Lillette, and Patois, all excellent. And that's just scratching the surface. La Boca is great for steaks, well, lets say its just great.

NOLA has the foodbar at the wood oven station which is next to where the Chef expedites. Many call it the chef's table as you get to watch the kitchen action, talk to the line cook there and often interact with the Chef

I know Commander's used to have (or does have) a chef's table inside the kitchen. I know it used to be quite difficult to get.

Does anyone know of the status of Commander's chef table?

I did a bit of research and found that Commander's chef table is still an option, as is the chef's table at Emeril's. Both are fabulous options.

I doubt you can do Commanders for just two. Its a large table. Could be wrong though.

Commander's Chef's Table is for four people, no more, no less.

Emeril's and Delmonico both have chef's tables. Emeril's is in the kitchen and Delmonico's is right outside the kitchen next to the piano in the bar.
