Route 40 Soup Co Closed?

MartinT Sep 21, 2010 12:26 PM

A friend told me that Route 40 has recently closed. I called today to verify and the number has been disconnected!

Anyone know if Mark and Lanny are reopening elsewhere or what the story is?

Some chatter at the bottom of the thread when they closed.

They have been making the rounds at farmers markets during the summer.
They should be at Hillhurst tomorrow (Wednesday) and Dalhousie on Thursday.
Probably a couple of other places but these are the ones I remeber.

I saw them at Millarville Market (open Saturday mornings only) in July

Yes they have been closed since the spring, but they still sell their soups at farmers markets. I heared that they were going to get into the ice-cream business. Hope that helps.

I saw them at the Hillhurst Market today (this was the last week). Here's the scoop....

They will be at the Dalhousie Community Market every Thursday starting October 14th from 2:30 to 6:30pm. It is inside the Community Center at 5432 Dalhart Road NW. It will run through the fall, winter & spring months until the surrounding markets start up again.

They will also be at the Millarville Christmas Market and the Hillhurst Christmas Market.

Hope that helps! They have a wide variety of their frozen soup concentrates for purchase. They also have some to sample.

            Thanks all, much appreciated!

I enjoy the soups very much, but what I will really miss is the beautiful drive out for an amazing meal from their unique menu of amazingly fresh and tastefully prepared slow cooked dishes..

like the Blueberry Bison Meatloaf, the Road Fries with Bison medallions, or the Cranberry Salsa Turkey burger (of course all accompanied by the soup!).

Maybe if I whine loudly enough they will open up in Calgary... somewhere downtown for lunch please Mark ;-)
