Iron Cupcake Competition -- anyone been?

There was an item in tasteto.com about it. It's a competition for amateur bakers, and they assign the main ingredient in advance. Here's the link: http://fortheloveofcake.ca/cupcakes/i...

I only know of the cupcake camp event

problems I know of it is:
    1. to many people
    2. lack of organization
    3. just general rudeness (my friend told me the story of the baker getting knocked over by the crowd that were just grabbing cupcakes)
    4. the judging, was badly organized
5, hard to know what cupcakes were what (again goes back to number 1 of to many people)
    6. someone who knew a baker said they felt like they were zookeepers at feeding time, no one was interested in her just the cupcakes. *aka lack of feed back.

however, I have not done iron cupcakes but I would imagine same issues.
Good luck if you compete but unless i had help with it I would never do it.

(you can hear millions of horror stories around about the toronto events. Most people I know said they would never go back)

just me or is it amusing that one of the prizes for the cupcake compation is someone elses cupcakes, would it not be a better prize to have the winner cupcakes be a feature cupcake at the bakery?
I can only speak for myself is, I bake cupcakes I do not buy dozen of another persons cupcake.
